WSET Level 2 Intermediate Course in Spirits (#S2001) is perfect for hospitality and spirits industry professionals as well as enthusiasts looking to expand on their foundational spirits knowledge. This is a comprehensive 3-day program that provides interactive exercises and hands-on training to strengthen your understanding of spirits and connect you with the Zürich Wine & Spirits community. WSET Level 2 is perfect for: • Spirits enthusiasts and professionals seeking to build upon an intermediate spirits experience level What you'll learn: • The techniques used during the four stages of spirits production: processing the raw material, alcoholic fermentation, distillation, and post-distillation operations • How local production traditions, coupled with local laws, are used to create different styles of spirits in fruit spirits, whisky/whiskey, sugar cane spirits, tequila and Mezcal, vodka, and flavored spirits • How to make a balanced cocktail and examples in four notable cocktail families (the spirit-forward, the short sour, the highball, and the long sour) • How to describe spirits using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits® (SAT) Registration includes: • 14 hours of world-class classroom instruction and the guided tasting of 32 quality spirits from around the world • All course materials, exam fees, a framable WSET certificate, and lapel pin upon successful course completion • Lunch is provided (sandwiches, salads, drinks, coffee) Course Dates & Times: • Sun, 16 March 2025: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm • Sun, 23 March 2025: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm • Sun, 30 March 2025: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, including 50-question exam (1 hour) Recommendations: We highly recommend that candidates without previous spirits education or trade experience attend the WSET Level 1 before proceeding to Level 2.
